Hello! 

First of all I would like to thank everybody who has taken time out of their busy schedules to read this. I really appreciate it. My name is Smera Tiwari and I am from Kanpur.  As you have probably already figured out iMindkanpur is a website for parents with children with disabilities. It seeks to help parents understand the disability their child has and approach help as soon as possible.

The Story of iMindkanpur is one that I hold close to my heart. When the parents of my four year old cousin’s noticed the difference in behaviour between my cousin and other kids his age, we were in a fix. We didn’t know what to do and who to approach for help. It was then that we first realized the glaring lack of knowledge amongst people about disabilities and disorders in children. I decided that very day that I wanted to change this. My resolve was further strengthened when we realized that even though there are numerous schools and services available for parents with special children we don’t know much about them and thus can’t make use of these services. Shortly after that, my sister Samanta Tiwari and cousins Ohm, Arushee & Anjaneya Tiwari also joined the cause and we finally had enough people to be able to start organizing camps to further spread awareness about the various resources available in the city for children with disabilities.

This website provides you with all the information needed by parents with children with disabilities-right from the disorders to their symptoms and therapies to the help available in the city.

Ofcource we are aware that new therapies keep emerging along with new idea and techniques for the ‘treatment’ of these disorders and we will try our best to keep this site as up to date as possible in order to maintain its usefulness.
